Dancing in a Winter Wonderland

Katie and I were able to attend the Winter Contra Dance event on November 21st, 2015 at St. Paul’s Memorial United Methodist Church. The caller for this event was Thos Lankston and the music was provided by the Riverrun Country Dance Band. It was very exciting to be able to see such an energetic group of people dance to these amazing songs provided by the band. There were people of all ages at this event, and there were people who had a ton of experience, but also some who had none. Katie and I playing the tambourine and the spoons, respectively. However, age and experience level didn’t matter. Everyone was just there to have a great time. The band played about seven songs before the dreadful weather caused a black out in the church, but the blackout did not cause a change in the atmosphere. It may have ended the event earlier than expected, but it did not take away from the fun everyone was having. Below are a few recordings from the event of the band and Thos Lankston calling.  There is also a photo gallery where you can see pictures from the dance.
